2010 Bookmark Winners

Ten excited 2010 BOOKMARK WINNERS were selected from over 5,500 creative entries, thoroughly challenging the panel of judges. Each winning bookmark was chosen as an innovative and personal expression of the magic of reading for fun.

Every year RIFSoCal invites children at all participating sites to design a black and white bookmark to illustrate why they think reading is FUNdamental and important.  RIFSoCal’s creative artist and partner, Oscar Cux, lovingly colorizes each drawing, generating 10 truly amazing masterpieces.  360,000 copies of each design are printed and are distributed to more than 100,000 children during the program year every time they choose a new, free book! Winners also receive 50 copies of their bookmark to share with relatives, classmates and friends.

Please join us in congratulating the winners:  Adrian Navejas, Kindergarten, Buchanan St. School; Ernesto Beltran, Grade 1, Aldama Elementary; Damaris Venavidas, Grade 2, Jason Elementary; Aurora Galvan, Grade 2, Los Feliz Elementary; David Yegoyan, Grade 3, John Muir Elementary; Ovsanna Ignatosyan, Grade 3, Saticoy Elementary;  Abigail Sanchez, Grade 5, Fourth Street Elementary; Hellgert Almontes, Grade 5, Willard Elementary; Janett Gutierrez, Grade 5, Dolores Huerta Elementary; and Autumn English, Grade 11, Tobinworld.
