For every $20 you donate, you will provide books for 2 children in our program for 1 year.

For the first time ever, RIFSoCal brings together Southern California's top children's book authors and other literacy supporters for a special Thanksgiving campaign.

Donate $20 now and get FREE GIFTS from each and every one of your favorite participating children's book authors!

Support children's literacy during a time of critical need!

How does it work?

For every $20 tax-deductible donation you make, you fund 2 children in our program for 1 year.

Why now?

Congress has eliminated funding for Reading Is Fundamental for the first time in the organization's 45-year history, making our future uncertain and putting the future of our children in jeopardy. RIFSoCal is in a battle for survival. We must raise $400,000 this year to sustain our commitment to our children – over 93% of whom are from low-income families.

Why RIFSoCal?

For nearly five decades, RIFSoCal has helped children discover the magic of reading for fun! Every year, more than 100,000 elementary schoolchildren in Los Angeles’ most impoverished neighborhoods receive books – many for the first time – through RIFSoCal's distributions of new, free books.

  • Our grass-roots movement is fueled by the efforts of more than 7,000 volunteers in more than 300 sites across Los Angeles County.
  • Teachers, parents, corporate volunteers and civic-minded individuals will distribute more than 300,000 free books this year alone.
  • Together, we organize nearly 900 special events to ensure children’s love of reading continues.

Help us raise $400,000 and win our battle for survival!
